Rent a Dress
The longest project I have been involved in during my internship is for RentaDress.nl.
For the project I have photoshoped some of the images, resized them, edited and also designed some of the website, although the current design was created by someone else. For Rent a Dress.nl I also acted as my own project manager.
The current site is due to be finished and live within a week and at present can be viewed at the test link here.
Technologies utilised during this project are, Jquery, CSS2, XHTML, ActionScript 3 and PHP.
The main galleries are created in Flash, using XML content provided by PHP. XHTML and CSS are used for the styling with Jquery used to add additional functionality to the text pages.
The project has gone through multiple complete design changes, some after the completing of the implementation, thus hugely delaying the project.
I will add an additional post when the site is complete
Sapph Lingerie
I was asked to come up with 3 design concepts for Sapph Lingerie, one of the Netherlands’ biggest lingerie brands.
One of my 3 designs was chosen to be taken further and I designed a more complete design. Below are some of the jpgs of the pages.
The design concept has been worked on by another intern at the company, with some design alterations being made.
The design is currently being implemented and I will include a direct link when available.
All logos used and icons are that of a different designer(s) and all credits for these go to them.
TNT Post – Mijn Post
I created a simplified design version for TNT Post‘s Mijn Post (My Post) section on their website. The revision concept was to make the section “idiot proof” and answer all the commonly posed questions relating to sending post via TNT.
This design was approved and is currently being implemented. All logos used and icons are that of a different designer(s) and all credits for these go to them, except that of the Mijn Post logo in the top right-hand corner of the page.
The screenshots demonstrate the websites usage and structure. The user initially chooses a common question, they are then presented with a different screen with a more filtered set of common questions, and then on the final screen given the relevant answer.
Ter Haar Makelaars
Using their then present newsletter design, I created a website re-design concept for Teer Haar Makelaars, an Amsterdam based Estate Agents.
My final design was approved and is being implemented in the coming months. All logos used and icons are that of a different designer(s) and all credits for these go to them.

glo-babe
Taking the design layout, dimensions and elements of another intern I created glo-babe. A compact travel advisor website, which lists up-to 3 tips for each predefined category in a selected city.
For this project I took some of the design elements and brought them into Adobe Flash. I then proceeded to categories all the city information and city images I was given. I then used Actionsript 3 in Conjunction with XML to power the project.
Hole Clothing
As well as my project managerial role I undertook some small design changes for Hole Clothing. Mostly changes to font size and colour. Below is the shop’s changed Size Charts.
1000 Steps Design Ideas
One of my first tasks was to come up with a few design ideas for 1000 Steps.
I was set the task of trying to incorporate a river, seen in their previous website, into the site’s navigation. I was also asked to try and use earthly tones for the colour scheme and use an art canvas and/or note paper style
Amsterdam Internship Work
As of the 1st of June 2010 I started to work for an Amsterdam based internet company named e-babe, for a little over 6 months.
Here is I was in charge of a multitude of different tasks, such as;
Web page development, using XHTML, CSS2, Jquery and some PHP.
Web page design, primarily in Adobe Photoshop.
Adobe Flash sites, using Actionscript 3, but also some site maintenance using Actionscript 2.
Flyer design, using both Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
Also for a period of 3 months I was interim project manager for Hole Clothing. For this task I used Mantis to log design changes, bugs and other aspects of the project. I also spoke directly to them on a daily basis via Skype. In addition to this I had meetings with the client to keep them up-to date on the project status and hear any ideas or issues about the project and its development. I also used the projects two Content Management Systems, SilverStripe and Magento. With these two systems I added new blocks and texts and images and also edited text.
For some of the work I produced during my time at the placement see proceeding entries.
